AED (Advanced Eye Diagnostics Limited) is an ocular diagnostic suite base in Midlands and currently has a unit operating from The Meriden BMI Hospital in Coventry.

We are pleased to offer out services to Ophthalmologists and Optometrists. We are starting with a retinal module comprising of a Zeiss OCT (Ocular Coherence Tomography) Stratus and Zeiss Visucam Fundus Camera which is non-mydryatic but, unlike other non-mydriatic fundus cameras, is capable of producing macular and optic disc stereographic digital photographs and stunning fluorescein angiographies at 30° and 40°. It can also produce peripheral fundus photographs and montages – ideal for viewing naevi and complex retinal lesions spread across the fundus.

Retinal images are fundamental for diagnosis and monitoring of several eye diseases and paramount to provide services based on best practice. We aim to resolve the current private medicine paradox by which patients investing in better care may not benefit from the diagnostic images that they would receive otherwise in a NHS clinic. Often the reason for this paradox is limited access and high cost of good quality retinal imaging. We aim to address both issues by providing access to our equipment most time of the week and by offering competitive prices.
